A Port

This is one of the ports or refueling stations scattered across the Alya-whin plateau.

These upgoing streams around, are in fact light water. Well, not exactly water, since its properties would distinguish it as a whole new element, but still very close to one.

It is generally lighter than air, so that instead of putting your ship in the water to float, you put water inside your ship with the same effect. Except that the ship stays upside-down.

Of the vast underground reservoirs of this liquid little is known. But through the numerous cracks and geysers where it is not harvested, the light water flows upwards until it freezes, adding up to a large glacier in the sky, which has been around for generations. Hence the odd color of the sky...

They say the glacier drifts slowly east, where it melts and reacts with some other elements, changing its properties and raining back on earth, which completes the circle.
